The vegetative starting point

Grow A+B is listed at 10–20 ml per 10 litres throughout vegetative weeks 1–4. Root Shoot is 2 ml per 10 litres in weeks 1 and 2, rising to 3 ml in weeks 3 and 4. Stress is 2 ml per 10 litres throughout the twelve vegetative and bloom weeks. The chart’s normal EC values for the four veg weeks are 1.2, 1.3, 1.4 and 1.5. The lighting labels are 18/6 for veg and 12/12 for bloom. These are the published chart values, not invented extensions for a longer or shorter crop.

Move into bloom deliberately

Bloom A+B is 15–25 ml per 10 litres in bloom weeks 1–2, 20–30 ml in weeks 3–4, 25–30 ml in weeks 5–6 and 25–35 ml in weeks 7–8. Root Shoot stays at 3 ml through bloom week 5. Boost starts in bloom week 2 at 10 ml, then rises to 20 ml in weeks 3–8. Stress remains at 2 ml. Select either the PK programme or the Resin programme rather than mixing both schedules. PK 9/18 is 2.5 ml in bloom weeks 4 and 5 and 5 ml in week 6; Resin is 10 ml in weeks 3–8.

Do not forget the coco-specific note

The chart says to use Monkey Mag Cal for coco. This matters because coco can bind calcium and magnesium, but the supplied product information does not specify a Mag Cal dose. Ask your stockist rather than adding a made-up number to the schedule. The calculator intentionally does not calculate an unconfirmed Mag Cal dose. Reservoir volumes scale the confirmed per-10-litre values linearly. Where a base feed is shown as a range, retain both ends of that range rather than turning it into a single supposedly correct measurement.

Check the programme before you start

The Monkey feeding chart is written as a ratio per 10 litres of water. Its headings distinguish vegetative growth, bloom and flush, and the programme toggle selects PK or Resin. Before measuring anything, check that the week on the screen is the week you intended. A veg week and a bloom week can share a number but involve different base feeds. The chart’s ranges should remain ranges in your notes. A displayed interval does not mean that the website has secretly chosen one precise value for your crop. Read the full row and the surrounding programme rather than lifting a number out of context.

The calculator is a convenient way to change reservoir volume without changing the underlying chart. Enter litres, choose the week and programme, and read the millilitres for each included product. If you double the water volume, the confirmed amounts double; if you halve it, they halve. A product without a confirmed dose is not automatically assigned one. This simple boundary is important: arithmetic can scale an instruction, but it cannot supply missing product guidance.

Good questions

Can I use Monkey in coco, soil and hydro?

Yes. The Monkey range is designed for coco, soil and hydro. Follow the feeding chart, and use Monkey Mag Cal for coco.

Does it work with hard and soft water?

Grow A+B and Bloom A+B are designed for UK hard and soft water. Mag Cal is particularly relevant for soft water, RO water and coco.
